Turn off the water supply inside the bathroom while you are installing the tub fixtures. This is always the first step when dealing with any kind of plumbing-related work. Locate the water supply valve and use a wrench tool to loosen then open it completely. Connect one end of a pipe to the water supply valve, following the instructions from the tub fixture installation kit. Be sure to secure the pipe with additional elements from the kit, such as rubber rings and threaded adapters. If you are using PVC pipes, use a hack saw to cut them to the needed length and PVC glue to secure the connecting elements. If you are using copper pipes, use a reciprocating saw to cut them to size and a soldering torch to connect the elements to one another. Install the retaining nuts for the fixtures and hand-tighten them to secure them in place.
